Update:

In case you haven't noticed, there is an additional child in our family photo. I would like you all to meet the newest member of our family. She is the pretty little 7 year old in the purple dress. "Eloise" now has a little sister. We have decided to call her, "Amelia Bedelia".

I'm Such a Softy.....

What do you do when you are driving down a busy highway and you look down and see tiny blue eyes pleading for help? Well, I immediately pulled over and walked to the edge of the road and watched as several cars rolled over(one wheel on either side) what appeared to be the limp body of a helpless kitten. Finally an elderly couple slammed on brakes and made an opportunity for me to retrieve the little fellow. He looked near death. We took him to the nearest vet who examined him. The doctor said it appeared that the kitten had suffered an impact, but none of his bones were broken. He gave him a shot of cortisone to relieve any swelling and gave us an antibiotic to fight off any infection caused by fluid in the lungs or around the heart. He said he thought that the kitten would be fine.

He is approx. 5 weeks old, so he is old enough to be weaned.
We fed him some moist cat food.

Eloise and Daddy administered the meds
and prescribed....

...a little R&R in the fresh air and sunshine.

After all of that the little guy was plum tuckered out.
He took a nap and I took a Benedryl....
did I mention I'm terribly allergic to cats!

Oh, those pictures! We are definitely kindred spirits when it comes to rescuing animals (I've got a couple stories, too...) I'm so glad you happened upon that sweet little guy, and I'm so sorry you're allergic!!! ={

And you are so very welcome for the ribbon ~ you earned SO MUCH more! (and I should have gussied up the package a little more. Oh dear.)

Does Eloise get to keep it, or will the allergies win out?
