Update:

In case you haven't noticed, there is an additional child in our family photo. I would like you all to meet the newest member of our family. She is the pretty little 7 year old in the purple dress. "Eloise" now has a little sister. We have decided to call her, "Amelia Bedelia".

It's That Time Again!

This morning we loaded up the Birthday Breakfast Tray, marched into the bedroom, and serenaded the sleeping person of honor.

It usually takes a few minutes for PaPa Bear to realize whats going on when he is suddenly awaken from hibernating.
P.S. Don't tell him about this picture....
he might take my camera somewhere and lose it!
P.S.S. Next week is my last week of class and assignments, then comes finals.
I just found out that I Passed my portal assessment exam!
I honestly thought I might have failed because I don't do well on timed tests.
Well, that's another huge hurdle out of the way.
Until Next Time,
~ME

One Busy Little Bunny....

It is 1:30 am. I can officially say, "Happy Easter"!
I must be insane.
I just finished writing a paper for school and I have one more to write in between church today.
Above are the 30 goody bags, 50 sugar filled plastic eggs, 2 dozen dyed eggs, and 4 Easter Baskets necessary to celebrate the resurrection of Christ.
(Please know that I am so not being serious)
BLESSINGS Y'ALL!
I'm going to sleep now...
Three more weeks till finals!

Put on Your Easter Bonnet......

This is my FAVORITE (only) niece.

This is the hat that I made for her school's annual Easter Hat Parade.

This is the newest addition to our extended family.
(As strange as they may seem, I'm sure that extra set of hands will come in handy.LOL)
When she is big enough I will make a hat for her parade too.

What was I thinking!?!

There I was standing in line at a local meat market. The market is also a popular lunch spot. Several customers came in and ordered something that I had seen, but never eaten. Before I could stop myself I said to the clerk, "I think I would like to try that." So he quickly presented me with a sample. At that moment I lost my nerve, but I couldn't refuse something I just requested. So I closed my eyes and took a tiny bite. Surprisingly it was actually good. So when I got back in my car, I immediately called my husband to tell him what I ate and he informed me that he was never going to kiss me again! While I admit that it wasn't bad, I do not think it is something I will be ordering again because of the social stigma. LOL! I know you're probably screaming WHAT WAS IT!!!! by now so here it is.....

COW TONGUE!

I know I have probably just repulsed 90% of my audience (self included).

I figured since my blog has been fairly boring due to school

I needed to do something to shake things up around here!

BRAVO!

Eloise and her school's newly formed Drama Club put on their first performance.

"Mighty Minds"is a mini-musical about the stress of standardized testing.

The students panic.
The teacher has to call in some super hero friends of hers to convince the students that they will do well on the tests because they are intelligent, curious, & have Mighty Minds.

All of the kids worked so hard to pull this together.

They did a fabulous job
JUST LOOK AT THE EXPRESSIONS(ABOVE)

This is a pic of Eloise and her Drama Coach Ms. C, whom she adores.

To the entire Drama Team I say

BRAVO!

A Call to Action....

There are three projects that I feel very strongly about. The first isn't a "project" it is a necessity. PRAYER is the most important tool one can use in any battle. The other two are simple ways we can make our voice heard.

It seems that our president isn't satisfied with giving women the choice to kill innocent babies. He now wants to FORCE DOCTORS AND NURSES TO PERFORM SUCH PROCEDURES EVEN IF IT GOES AGAINST THEIR BELIEFS. You can sign an online petition at http://www.beheard.com/

The third thing I would like for you to consider is Red Envelope Day. The concept is simple:bombard the nations postal services and the President with millions of red envelopes on MARCH 31ST. The point is to send a message that there are still millions of people who believe that the blood(reason for red) of innocent babies is crying out to the Lord. If you would like to participate this is what you do:

Use a standard sized red envelope.

Seal it.

Place the proper postage on it.

Address it to:

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington, D.C. 205000

On the back write:
This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion.
It is empty, because the life that was taken also is.

There are a lot of rumors going around that the post office isn't going to send them because they are empty. If the proper postage is on them and they are sealed, then they have to send them by law. The website also recommends printing the mailing info on white labels so that they are easier for the machines at the post office to scan. Otherwise the postal workers may have to enter them all by hand if the addresses aren't clear or legible. The point is not to irritate postal workers who have a job to do.

Well I gotta go now, I have an important school assignment that must be attended to.
LOVE & PRAYERS,
ME

HOMEWORK BREAK !

It is almost 1:00 am and I had to take a mental break for just a minute. I have been swimming in technical jargon for the past few days. Schemata and graphophonemic cues will have to step aside and make way for important texts like LOL and TTFN! The picture above is of a quilt square my husband and I made for my Children's Literature class. The woman depicted in the top left was the children's lit teacher at the University of New Orleans for many years. She was also a children's book author. Since she has passed the current teacher thought it would be nice to make a quilt in her honor to be displayed at another college that the late Ms. Salley was active in supporting.
*This is the only assignment that I have enjoyed doing this semester.*
Well I guess I have dallied long enough...back to my essay.
TTFN!
