Update:

In case you haven't noticed, there is an additional child in our family photo. I would like you all to meet the newest member of our family. She is the pretty little 7 year old in the purple dress. "Eloise" now has a little sister. We have decided to call her, "Amelia Bedelia".

Pillowcase Magic....

What happens when two ordinary pillowcases have an encounter with a sewing machine?

Great things begin to happen....

Boring pink gets some snazzy purple zig zags.....

And my little girl gets a pretty little smile on her face!
***P.S. I know I just posted this morning about last night, but I couldn't wait to post about the skirt and shirt that I just finished, so you will have to scroll down to view the previous post.

Michelle,
I didn't really use a pattern. I just found two coordinating pillowcases, and added some trim to the open ends. For the skirt: I simply cut off the closed end of the case till the open end of the case was the length I wanted. I then added elastic(cut to fit my daughter's waist). For the top: It wasn't complicated, but it is hard to describe without pics, but if you google "pillowcase dress" a few of the sites have diagrams. Also if you are unfamilliar with any techinque such as doing an elastic waistband you can log on to youtube and search "how to sew elastic" or "sewing" they have lots of video clips. Just be carefule with youtube because not everyone is a Christian. I hope this was helpful.Let me know if you have further questions.
