I have recently discovered the art of
"sewing green".
I purchased a shirt that had an aggrivating neck line that wouldn't stay tied.
I was going to donate it as well as one of my daughter's turtle necks to Goodwill,
so I decided to try an experiment:
I removed the "turtle" part of Eloises' shirt and hemmed the neck.
Next I cut the arms and bottom off of my shirt.
I added elastic to the bodice piece of my shirt and made a skirt.
I then removed one of her sleeves and replaced it with a gathered version of mine.
At this point I must pause and let you know that
Eloise BEGGED Me to leave it that way,
because it looked so VERY STYLISH.
NO DEAL CAMILLE!
I must admit that after comparing the two pictures....
I think she was right.
It's ok though, because the outfit was free, we had lots of fun,
and my daughter loves it!

I love it!! What a great idea! I really like the ways you come up with these creative ideas!
I am finally getting settled in since our move and have started sewing again. I am working on curtains this week.
Eloise looks adorable and growing up so pretty!
Thanks for blogging and for sharing. I enjoy seeing what others are doing. Blessings to you! Kimi
That is an amazing idea! So very stylish, Miss Eloise! I like both ways. =)
p.s. I don't think I ever noticed just how LONG your little girl's hair is!!! Definitely her crowning glory. Mine's about at my waist, and I've been trying to decide whether or not to cut it.
About the hair.....I vote no. Long hair is on the endangered species list I think.
You are so very crafty. That turned out very cute. I have been watching several bloggers who repurpose various outfits and I have yet to try it. Sweet! Of course I love that last picture of Eloise. She is adorable.
