Update:

In case you haven't noticed, there is an additional child in our family photo. I would like you all to meet the newest member of our family. She is the pretty little 7 year old in the purple dress. "Eloise" now has a little sister. We have decided to call her, "Amelia Bedelia".

Hummus, Coffee, and.....

CLOSE YOUR EYES!!!

Saturday night my husband and I decided to go on a little date (something we rarely get to do) since our daughter was in Alabama visiting her Great Grandmother.

I love hummus with pita and grape leaves stuffed with rice, spices, & meat.

My husband doesn't like Mediterranean food so he opted for coffee.

Things were going well.

We were having a nice conversation, when all of a sudden the house speakers start blaring and a belly dancer pops out of nowhere and starts dancing around all of the tables.

Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse...

this old, fat, bearded customer jumps up and begins to dance with her!

There went my appetite.

Needless to say, we boxed everything up and I enjoyed the remains in the safety of my own dining room, but I kept my eye on the red laundry room door the whole time! LOL.

Girl Stuff...

Last week Eloise, Sarah (Eloise's doll), & I baked some teeny tiny cookies (above:a salad plate).

After Sarah and Eloise put on their new outfits (that Mommy made), we then wrapped the cookies and delivered them to Seleste, Talia, & their dolls to thank them for the sleepover that they so graciously hosted.
Beppi: I know it is just pretend, but with that girl I'll take manners whenever she is willing! LOL

Black & White Sunday...

This is my first posting for Black & White Sunday (see side bar).

Believe it or not, these pictures were taken by my almost 9 year old daughter.
My daughter and I went to visit a dear friend. We stayed couple of days just to get away and do some catching up. Yesterday when it was time to leave I wanted a picture of my friend and I. I couldn't take the picture myself so I asked my 8 year old to do her best. After she took our photo she asked if she could take some photos of the garden. The above pic was my favorite. I was really surprised with the results...I'm going to have to let her practice with my camera more often.

Pillowcase Magic....

What happens when two ordinary pillowcases have an encounter with a sewing machine?

Great things begin to happen....

Boring pink gets some snazzy purple zig zags.....

And my little girl gets a pretty little smile on her face!
***P.S. I know I just posted this morning about last night, but I couldn't wait to post about the skirt and shirt that I just finished, so you will have to scroll down to view the previous post.

Getting Ready For A Baby Shower....

Last night my crew and I headed over to Sister E's house to help with the preparations for the upcoming Baby Shower.

There were pretzels to be dipped and sprinkled, and meatballs to be seasoned and rolled.

Heavenly Hash all dressed up in ribbon (above)

The chicken breast had to be cut, stuffed, fried, cooled, then sealed and placed in the freezer.

The meatballs were baked and will be marinated in Sweet & Sour Sauce.
Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of all of the egg rolls we rolled for the big day.
We had a great time.
To me this type of stuff isn't a chore;
I love being in the big middle of things!

The pretzels after they cooled and were placed in little bags with silver twist ties.

In case you haven't noticed...It's going to be a Boy.

I am so blessed....

Just yesterday a dear sweet friend came and took my daughter and I out to lunch and then bought us each a new outfit.

She said that she knew that we didn't need anything, but that the Lord told her to treat us. I was speechless and a little reluctant, but she wouldn't take no for an answer. Who am I to argue with God? Any way, while we were out shopping I received a phone call from another sweet sister who moved to a different town after the hurricane. She was calling to say that she missed me and informed me that she will be picking me and Eloise up next Thursday and will bring us back on Saturday...that is if hubby can manage to part with us. He is such an easy going husband. If it makes me happy, it's fine with him.
I am so blessed!

**Sorry the picture of my outfit isn't very clear. Keep in mind the photographer is only 8. The skirt is a dark blue denim and the shirt is a cotton rayon blend with a floral print (different shades of blue and orange) and a ruffle around the collar, buttons, and sleeves.
**Eloise also ended up with a black dress with a leopard print scarf in addition to the shirt and scarf she is sporting in the above pic.

What a week.....

This past week we attended Camp Meeting.

It was wonderful.

On Friday night we all cheered as Brother Fason got up and pushed his wheel chair across the front of the sanctuary and his wife and teen aged daughter looked on with tears in their eyes. Word quickly spread to the children's church and Eloise came running to witness the miracle. Unfortunately the crowd was so thick I couldn't get a picture, but I did manage to get this dark photo(above) of some of the praise singers from our church and the tail end of the crowd that was following Bro. Fason.

I was raised an only child and I have an only child, so for me it is always exciting when we get to hang out with all of our friends who have several kiddos. All week wherever we went to eat our group took up a major portion of the dining area. There were also large groups of friends from other churches that took up the rest of the seats.

Eloise made lots of friends from all over the place. The two girls on the right are friends she met at Junior Camp. Come to find out, their mother attended camp as a teenager with sister Terri. They realized it after only a few minutes of conversation. It truly is a small world.

We did hair styles and matching outfits.

We played with babies.

The girls started the sister Melody fan club.

I must mention that the Banana Pudding Pie that you see in the picture below was delicious!

I almost forgot to get someone to take a photo of all of us so that I could prove that I actually went on this trip. LOL

On the way home from Mississippi, we stopped in at Plain Old Kristi's place for a 4th of July get together.

These two pictures (above & below) are of two of my "adopted" nieces and a friend.

Yes....those are soda bottles.

I forgot my manners and took a bite out of the brisket before I took this picture. All was delicious, but I really enjoyed Byron's mushrooms and Kristi's salad with pecans, cheese, heirloom tomatoes and her home made blackberry dressing.

After Lord Byron and Allen of Electrical put on an amazing display of pyro-technics we all went our separate ways and went to sleep.

THE END.
