Update:

In case you haven't noticed, there is an additional child in our family photo. I would like you all to meet the newest member of our family. She is the pretty little 7 year old in the purple dress. "Eloise" now has a little sister. We have decided to call her, "Amelia Bedelia".

What is it about color.....

 I am addicted to color.
(Flowers compliments of Brother Joey's late aunt who was an avid gardener)

I often find myself picking my food, because of it's hue.
(rainbow potatoes that I couldn't pass up at Whole Foods)

Yummy yarn that didn't get put back due to budget cuts.
(not pictured are the gorgeous rust orange, eggplant purple, and lime green that were sacrificed in the name of restraint and all things frugal.)

Any way, back to the topic at hand:
I adore color.....
and don't get me started on texture!

ON TO TOPIC #2:
My daughter is growing up so fast and so are her instruments!

Eloise is now playing Violin in the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra and taking private Cello lessons in hopes of being accepted in the "Endangered Instruments Program".
Eloise is inspired by the music of Yo-Yo Ma.

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted.
I don't always have time to say anything, but I always check my friends blogs.

In Case You Haven't Noticed....

I absolutely love to have gatherings in my home. Nobody leaves my house without being offered something to munch on either. The above pic is of my dining room table prepared for a weekly women's Bible study. We also had scrambled eggs, grits, and smoked sausage. The mini quilt was one that I made for Eloise to take for nap time, when she started school. It's a little tattered from Katrina, but I thought it added a nice touch.

This was my niece's 7th Birthday party.

The girls prepared their own pizzas.

 They also decorated cupcakes.

 Above: spreading the pizza dough.

The birthday girl is concentrating on her masterpiece.

Another guests packs up her creation to take home.

The children made mini root beer floats while waiting for the pizzas to cook.

A couple of the guests could not attend due to uncontrollable circumstances, but all in all I think it was a success. The kids truly enjoyed playing with and eating their food.
