Update:

In case you haven't noticed, there is an additional child in our family photo. I would like you all to meet the newest member of our family. She is the pretty little 7 year old in the purple dress. "Eloise" now has a little sister. We have decided to call her, "Amelia Bedelia".

Good Intentions....

I have been hearing a bird squawking for a couple of days. I did not pay much attention to it until today when we were doing yard work. I noticed that the sounds were coming from the drain grate in the street. I looked down through the little slits in the grate and noticed a little bird. My daughter and I were very upset so we summonsed the strength of my husband and a few neighbors to rescue the poor little baby bird. We carried the squawking baby to the back yard and made a makeshift nest in the shade. My husband and daughter dug up some worms and fed it. I was happy that we were able to rescue it until to my horror......as I was glancing out the front window I spotted the mother bird returning with a worm for baby! She squeezed through the grate and then popped right back out frantically searching for her little one. My heart sank. We meant well. Now what were we to do?!? The good news is....about a half an hour later as I peeked out my back window I saw the mother checking on her baby. She flew back and forth between a tree and the temporary nest. When we got home from church tonight they were both gone. I'm sure she somehow managed to transplant it somewhere. I'm just glad she found her baby and that she would still touch it even though it had been handled by humans.

Precious Moments

Time is ticking away. I only have a few blessed days to prepare for the summer. I go back to school on the 5th of June. ;-( I still have 2 part time jobs, but my school job will come to an end on Wednesday. So today I spent some time just playing around my house. It feels so good to just do something for the fun of it!

These are some of the latest additions to my home. I know it's probably considered an illness, but I absolutely adore anything that helps to keep my world organized. I LOVE MY RIBBON BOXES!!!

These are pics of the cherry pie I made today ;-)

This is the finished product of our recycled
chocolate bunny project.

Attention Sister Barbara

Go to Flower & Petal's Paper Parade from "My Favorite Blogs" on side bar.

The Three B's ....

Bulldozer......we have been watching these guys from our front porch for the past couple of weeks. The goal is to have 8,000 abandoned homes demolished by the end of the year. There is a lot of prep work, but once they start it takes about 4 hours to have the lot completely cleared and raked clean! Hopefully we will be able to buy some of these lots soon so we can re-plant flowers and trees. With all the trees and houses gone there is nothing left to block the sun or wind. Well any way ...on to the next B....

Bunnies....Huge chocolate bunnies left over from Easter. What do you do with those guys any way? Well this year I decided not to just throw them out. I found a way to recycle them. Tomorrow we are going to make a batch of chocolate chunk cookies. No waste here! I bet my best bud across the river is beaming with pride right now! ;-)

Bicycles.....Yes my friends we have developed a plan to battle the bulge brought on by consuming products that contain recycled chocolate bunnies! Not to mention the fact that this is a great way to spend family time as we track the progress in our neighborhood.

Stuck In The In Between!

My husband and I often wonder if we will ever graduate out of this strange middle ground that we seem to inhabbit. When we go to our annual Christmas Banquet we have to help with the entertainment because we are the younger generation, so... we were kind of excited when they decided to have a Spring Formal for the Youth Department. I have five years before I'm too old to go. Just think of it.....we can go and enjoy the meal that we jut paid $70 for. We can get all spiffed up and impress everyone while we sit there looking pretty.....NOT!... We are the oldest members of the youth dept.....and it really is for the YOUNG PEOPLE to enjoy.......so we were wondering if you and some of the other OLD people.......YA GETTIN THE PICTURE?... Well if not here it is... Me in my beautiful banquet attire: The above pic is of my husband sporting one of the hottest trends in formal wear. ;-)

This is one of the very few normal shots you will find of us at a banquet.

Well..As I often say....I had to laugh cause crying gives me hives! ;-)

I almost forgot! Here is a picture of the Viper otherwise known as the chicken slayer! LOL ;p

Life in My World

What do cocoons, dove nests, rabbits, sewing machines, and a "build-your-own-pizza" party have in common? Well the answer is simple....my house. I have to save my words for the 5 essays that I must write this weekend so I thought I would just post several pictures from my little piece of Earth. Enjoy!

P.S. I have added a scripture of the week at the top of the side bar. I will change this once a week as well as the word of the week. I want to keep my blog interresting. If you have any suggestions let me know!
